The Mission: Day Off Living

Molly is my 11.5 lb shih tzu and she absolutely does not need a day off.

afternoon on the porch

I justify her lavish lifestyle of endless belly rubs, fluffy beds, numerous toys, & organic treats by reminding myself she was a puppy-mill dog for the first five years of her life. But she really does lead an unnecessarily cushy life. (In fact, even the neighbor kids refer to her as Queen Molly.)

My question is: What if Molly could take a day off? How could could her little puppy world get better?

No matter who we are or what we do, we all want a day off. It's an excuse to step out of the norm and live in an alternate reality.

Take Ferris Bueller, for instance. I mean, he had it pretty good from the get-go. High school popularity, decent looks, pretty girlfriend, awesome side-kick best friend, and a snazzy house on Chicago's ritzy North Shore. But even he wanted a day off.

This blog is dedicated aligning daily life more closely with the day-off dream. Whether you're a Ferris Bueller-type jumping on a float just in time for a surprising last-minute dance number, or more Molly dog-esque, lazing in bed until noon, join me! Let's let each day have a little bit of a "day-off" vibe...
